[Recycled Blouse, Ecote Wrap Skirt, Vintage 'Florida' Scarf]
In the Fall and Spring layering is easy. Vests, jackets, cardigans, coats…the options are endless! In the Summer though I often struggle with ways to dress up my basics on the hottest of hot days. A summer scarf is the perfect solution to this problem. They’re lightweight, inexpensive, and you can find a large variety of shapes, patterns, and colors at your favorite vintage boutique or department store. I got this square one from an awesome vintage clothing store near my old apartment in Chicago. It’s a map of Florida with cheerful graphics like palm trees and bronzed beachgoers. I paid $6 for it (what a deal!).
Here are three easy ways you can integrate a Summer scarf into your Summer wardrobe:
Tied around your neck, 60′s flight attendant style. Just wrap around twice and make a tiny knot at the front.
Open around your neck. Tuck in to your skirt should a gust of wind come your way.
Wrapped around your head, twisted and knotted to one side.
