I found this lovely sheer button-up at a thrift store a few weeks ago. At only $2.50 I couldn’t pass it up! While I’ve been so excited to wear it, I have struggled a bit with how to balance the sheerness of it with the tastefulness required to go in public.
Heading to a happy hour with some friends and co-workers meant it wasn’t quite appropriate to wear this blouse with a bright bra or bandeau top. (Though I did try a few variations of this in the privacy of my home and will say that both a detailed lace bra and a dark bandeau looked adorable underneath it!) I settled on a cami for sufficient coverage without sacrificing it’s deicate sheer style.
Getting dressed today also reminded me how completely obsessed I am with my new hair. Thank you all for your sweet compliments on it, too!
On another note, last night I attended a trunk show for New Orleans-based designers Jolie & Elizabeth. These ladies are not only sweet as pie, their clothes are beautiful, whimsical and well-made. One of my favorite pieces is the Mimi dress, a silk mini dress with sewn-in sweetheart neckline and elastic waist. So cute! See it, and more, in their Fall Lookbook.
What do you think about the return of sheer? Have you given this look a try?

I love the sheer top, but I’d also wear a tanktop under it. I’m not comfortable enough to go with a bandeau or bra top! :)
I have that same skirt. :)
Really diggin’ sheer tops lately, just bought a few!
Love how you put together this outfit :)
