In lieu of an outfit post today I wanted to share a very exciting event happening this weekend: the NOLA Fashion Week Preview Party!
I’m one of three co-producers of the inaugural NOLA Fashion Week and I couldn’t be more thrilled about what’s in store, for both this party and the week itself. Each of the Southern based or born designers on the bill has sent a very special look to be displayed in an installation at this event. If you’re in New Orleans, you don’t want to miss it!
And be sure to mark your calendars for March 20-26th, 2011 and follow NOLA FW on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest!

Dressed for: Work day
Wearing:
Necklace: Gift from Austin
Tee: Nation, from Bloomingdale’s
Vest: Steve & Barry’s Chicago
Brocade Blazer: Zara, scored at Ruffian Swap
Skinnies: Page, from Jeantherapy
Wedge Boots: Sam Edelman Effice
On Menswear:
Ladies do not be afraid, menswear can be feminine! To give it a try yourself try pairing a mix of fun prints and bold colors. Suit up in a floral jacket with a dress shirt and colored scarf, or a solid colored blazer with printed tie neck blouse. Mini skirts, skinny jeans or wide-leg trousers on the bottom all add to this polished look. Feeling really bold? Add an oversized bowtie. Especially for you ladies working under business casual guidelines, adding just an edge of masculinity is a great way to add some variety to your daily wardrobe!

Skirt: Fox’s Chicago
Tights: F21
Shoes: Bass via Zappos

On A New Camera:
After saving up our holiday pennies, and Austin’s fantasy football winnings, The LaRoches are now the proud owners of a new Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR Camera! My goodness what a difference it makes! I barely did any editing to these photos and I can’t believe how sunny and splendid they are. I’m really looking forward to playing with light, trying some shoots at night and just learning more about photography in general. For you experienced photogs out there, do you have any tips for taking and/or editing photos with these SLR cameras? Please do share!
