On Casual Fridays:
I can’t help loving this loose and laid-back look for a quick coffee shop trip to squeeze in some work before the weekend. Fridays that involve happy hours or date nights call for something more dressed up of course, but something so relaxed is just fine for me when I’ve got no where to go and no one to see. This quirky sweatshirt graphic reminds me of something my mom would have worn in the 90′s, and to avoid looking too much like I just rolled out of bed I paired it with these cozy printed pants (also seen here) and a classic V-neck tee. From home or office – what’s on your list to wear for casual Fridays?

Dressed for: A mini-date with Austin for some wine + cheese
Wearing:
Dress, worn as top: Ruffian Swap
Belt: Lili Vintage
Skirt: Thrifted
Wedges: Sam Edelman Effie, via Zappos
On Dresses as Tops:
Love the top of a dress, but over the bottom? Switch it up and make a whole new look by simply wearing that dress under another skirt, pants or shorts. Remix time! This super cute double scoop neck dress has a great basic black top, but the shiny bottom is so memorable and I didn’t want to repeat the exact same look. Enter one of my favorite thrifted maxis, previously worn with an oversized blazer, and a vintage belt to create a totally new silhouette. So easy and fun!
Have you given remixing your dresses as tops a try?

Dressed for: A fun day of NOLA Fashion Week meetings
Wearing:
Sweater: Urban Outfitters
Dress: Vintage
Belt: H&M
Booties: Steve Madden
On The Reunion Dress:
Years ago a beautiful new Mom got all dressed up to attend her her high school reunion. She bought a special bright dress, had a pair of heels dyed to match, and strutted her stuff for friends of years past. That woman? My mother-in-law. That dress? This one! After cleaning out her closet a few weeks ago she offered me a bunch of awesome vintage to wear and contribute to Ruffian Swap. This was one of the many pieces that were too cute to give up! And even more I just love wearing something that was special to her, and now is special to me.
