Hat: Garage Sale, Tank: Gifted Sophomore, Belt + Skirt: Thrifted
One stop on my roadtrip last week was in a little town on the West coast of Florida called Sarasota. I was there for a wedding, but used the celebrations as an excuse to squeeze in some quality time with my family. Lido Key, where we stayed, is a little island just off the main land, filled with soft white sand and plenty of shells for the taking. We spent one whole day in the sun, walking the stretch of the beach and soaking in our surroundings. The waves were so calm, perfect for wading through. I left with a bit of a sunburn after forgetting to reapply my sunscreen, but it was definitely worth it.

Matthew Arthur Apparel Architecture was one of the most buzzed about shows at the Fall/Winter 2011 NOLA Fashion Week. And designer Matthew Arthur isn’t just an artist when it comes to crafting clothes, he’s also a talented photographer, accessory designer, and creative visionary for the sp[OIL]ed Campaign. He describes his line as “the brand for the chemically imbalanced,” but his charismatic silhouettes and quirky accessories are far from imbalanced. Here are a few sneak peek photos from his latest F/W lookbook, shot just down the way in Baton Rouge, LA. To see more, visit his blog.

Sunnies: Ray Ban, Button-Up: F21, Vest: Gap, Shorts: NY&Co., Sandals: Swapped, Bag: Garage Sale
If you follow me on Twitter you may have seen that I spent the weekend roadtripping across the Southeast and into Florida. My husband Austin and I loooove road trips and prefer driving to flying whenever possible. We even spent our honeymoon on a road trip! I always wear long sleeves or a cardigan in the car to combat his preference for air conditioning. Sandals are a must for slipping on and off, as is a little bag that can easily come in with me on gas station runs. And since we usually split the driving, I’m always prepared for my turn with contacts and sunnies for day or eye glasses for night.
