Memorial Day Delights

May 28th, 2010 § 0 comments § permalink

Memorial Day commemorates U.S. men and women who died while in the military service and is often spent visiting cemeteries and memorials, and placing American flags on each grave site.  Thanks to Wikipedia for the quick history lesson.

For many of us Memorial Day also means barbeques, beach trips, day drinking, and an extra 24 hours away from the office.  Here are a few delightful things to enjoy this great American holiday with.

The new TOMS Summer wedge. Look cute and do good, what’s not to love? These little beauties have a peep toe and will be available in three stripes and three solids.  They’re just perfect for an afternoon barbeque and I can’t wait to get my hands on a pair.  Sign up here to be notified when they’re available.

Duarte’s Tavern‘s Olallieberry Pie. Austin and I stopped at this infamous spot in Pescadero, California on our honeymoon last summer.  An olallieberry tastes like the love child of a blackberry and a raspberry, and this pie is the perfect mix of tart a sweet.  Available at Duarte’s and other shops in the Bay Area.

Madewell has finally launched their online shopping site. Rejoice!  I can’t wait to start loading my shopping cart.  With the heat already rolling through Louisiana I’ve got my eye on this adorable floral romper.  Topped off with a straw fedora and and a plentiful helping of sunscreen I’m off to enjoy the day.

What are you looking forward to about Memorial Day? Have a delightful weekend whatever your plans may be!
